Pilipinas Win Na Win
This coming Saturday (July 31), ABS-CBN is launching a new noontime show called Pilipinas, Win na Win!. The new show will be hosted by Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Pokwang, and Kris Aquino. It is a game and variety show that will surely bring joy, energy and hope to Filipinos all over the world.
Pilipinas, Win na Win! will replace Wowowee. Willie Revillame, through his manager, was already informed about this new development. He was also notified about the new program being planned for him and this will be announced in due time.
Pilipinas, Win na Win! will be managed by director Johnny Manahan, creative director Bobot Mortiz, business unit head Jay Montelibano, and executive producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato. It will be aired after Showtime.

Paris Hilton Gushes On Doug Reinhardt: 'He's Going To Be My Husband'
Has Paris Hilton found her future fiance?"He's going to be my husband," she giggled to E! Online at the I Heart Ronson for JCPenney party in LA.
And though she and the baseball player and former "The Hills" star have seemingly had a whirlwind romance, the celebutante said that Doug's been part of her life for quite some time.
"We're best friends," Paris said. "It's not like we just met. We've known each other over the past year. I was in a relationship before and we reconnected. I'm really in love and really happy."
But according to Doug, the couple doesn't have wedding bells in mind just yet.
"You never know," Doug said.
Until then, he's got a place on the set of the second season of Paris' "My New BFF," where she said he comes up with "funny ideas."
"It's good having my boyfriend on set and watching," she said, adding that things didn't work out with Season One winner Brittany Flickinger. "I want a best friend who wants to be friends with me because I'm a good person and a good friend, not for any other reason. I've been fooled by so many girls."

Gay marriages expected to begin in Iowa April 24
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Gay marriage, seemingly the providence of the nation's two coasts, is just weeks away from penetrating the heartland and it appears there is nothing social conservatives can do immediately to stop it.
The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday unanimously upheld a lower-court ruling that rejected a state law restricting marriage to a union between a man and woman. Now gays and lesbians may exchange vows as soon as April 24 following the landmark decision.
The county attorney who defended the law said he would not seek a rehearing. The only recourse for opponents appeared to be a constitutional amendment, which couldn't get on the ballot until 2012 at the earliest.
"I would say the mood is one of mourning right now in a lot of ways," said a dejected Bryan English, spokesman for the Iowa Family Policy Center, a conservative group that opposes same-sex marriage.
In the meantime, same-sex marriage opponents may try to enact residency requirements for marriage so that gays and lesbians from across the country could not travel to Iowa to wed.
U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, urged the Legislature to do so, saying he feared without residency requirements Iowa would "become the gay marriage mecca."
Only Massachusetts and Connecticut currently permit same-sex marriage. For six months last year, California's high court allowed gay marriage before voters banned it in November.
For gays and lesbians, meanwhile, the day was one of jubilation. The Vermont House of Representatives also passed a measure Friday that would allow same-sex couples to wed, on a 94-52 roll call vote, just short of the two-thirds majority needed to override a promised veto by Gov. Jim Douglas.
Gay marriage supporters hoped to convince a few Vermont legislators to switch when it comes to the override vote, which could be taken as soon as Tuesday.
In Iowa, hundreds cheered, waved rainbow flags and shed tears of joy at rallies in seven cities Friday evening. "Corn-fed and Ready to Wed!" read one man's sign at a gathering at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
In downtown Des Moines, about 300 people gathered beneath rainbow flags to celebrate including Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie.
"We finally have equality in Iowa," said Harold Delaria, of Des Moines, who attended the rally and has two gay children. "It's kind of the last wall of legalized discrimination and it's coming tumbling down."
The Rev. Diane McLanahan of Trinity United Methodist Church in Des Moines acknowledged that many people of faith won't agree with the ruling. With that in mind, she said the court has reached a decision that "pretty much insists that this will not be a debate about religious rights but a matter of equality and fairness."
In its ruling, the Supreme Court upheld an August 2007 decision by a judge who found that a state law limiting marriage to a man and a woman violates the constitutional rights of equal protection.
Iowa lawmakers have "excluded a historically disfavored class of persons from a supremely important civil institution without a constitutionally sufficient justification," the justices wrote.
To issue any other decision, the seven justices said, "would be an abdication of our constitutional duty."
At a news conference announcing the decision, plaintiff Kate Varnum, 34, introduced her partner, Trish Varnum, as "my fiance."
"I never thought I'd be able to say that," she said, fighting back tears.
Jason Morgan, 38, said he and his partner, Chuck Swaggerty, adopted two sons, confronted the death of Swaggerty's mother and endured a four-year legal battle as plaintiffs.
"If being together though all of that isn't love and commitment or isn't family or marriage, then I don't know what is," Morgan said. "We are very happy with the decision today and very proud to live in Iowa."
Iowa has a history of being in the forefront on social issues. It was among the first states to legalize interracial marriage and to allow married women to own property. It was also the first state to admit a woman to the bar to practice law and was a leader in school desegregation.
Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal, a Democrat, said state lawmakers were unlikely to consider gay marriage legislation in this legislative session, which is expected to end within weeks.
Gronstal also said he's "not inclined" to propose a constitutional amendment during next year's session. Without a vote by the Legislature this year or next, the soonest gay marriage could be repealed would be 2014.
Amendments to Iowa's constitution must be passed by the House and Senate in two consecutive general assemblies, which each last two years, and then approved by a simple majority of voters during a general election.

Lindsay Still With Sam: "We Aren't Broken Up"
Lindsay Lohan is still very much part of a twosome.When asked whether there's any truth to the breakup rumors dogging her and Samantha Ronson these days (pick a day, any day), the 22-year-old actress answered unequivocally.
"Those rumors aren't true. We aren't broken up," Lohan told E! News Wednesday, speaking from a penthouse suite at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, where she was doing promotional work for her new spray-on self-tanner, Sevin Nyne.
Hanging out with Lohan at the hotel were sister Ali and mom Dina, who flew in from New York earlier this week to spend time with her.
Fellow star Natalie Portman also swung by to check out LiLo's chemical-free tanning mist—but Ronson was nowhere to be seen. So what really gives?
"They've been spending time with their families and working," a source told E! News. "It's normal and healthy to do that. That doesn't mean they broke up!"
We're told that Ronson, who was in Florida for a gig Tuesday, is back in L.A. and spending time today with her fashion designer sister, Charlotte, who's in town for work.
Despite going through what seemed to be a series of spats, Lohan told E! last week that she wishes people would quit fixating on her and Ronson's relationship.
"They need to stop saying we're fighting," she said. "People telling lies about me to her and all this garbage. I'm really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work. Does Sex and the City Sequel Have "Big" Problems?
The second Sex and the City movie may not be as big as the first.
We're sure the box office will be just as major, but I'm told there's been a delay in getting Mr. Big to agree to return.
While no start date to shoot the movie has been decided, one source tells me that Chris Noth has yet to sign on because of "scheduling problems."

Timing may not be the issue. Quite simply, Noth and New Line Cinema are still in talks.
As I first reported in February, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis are set to reprise their roles, along with writer-director Michael Patrick King.
New Line announced earlier this week that SATC II will hit theaters May 28, 2010.

Chris Brown Smacked Down in New Diss Track
Los Angeles (E! Online) – Chris Brown is due to face the music in court on Monday—or he can just turn on his radio today.
Smoke Jumpers, a little-known hip-hop act, is attempting to raise its profile with some Brown bashing, taking the disgraced R&B singer to task in a new track that includes the lyric: "Chris Brown should get his ass kicked."
Called "My Flow So Tight," the electronic-flavored ditty is touted on the group's website as "the official Chris Brown dis record" and claims the entertainer has no future in the music biz because of the Rihanna incident:
"Boy hits girl/Boy should be taken down/No matter who's around...All the money in the world but that's no excuse/Career suicide, yo, here's the noose."
The track has been in heavy rotation on urban radio stations in markets like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Pittsburgh and Tampa.
Smoke Jumpers promise that a portion of the proceeds from the single will go to various organizations for battered women.
A rep for Brown was unavailable for comment. The 19-year-old singer is due in an L.A. courtroom Monday afternoon to be arraigned on two felony counts stemming from the pre-Grammys altercation.

Last month ived watch this movie on the net. That was a great movie. Story begins with Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) in a police station. He is one question away from winning 20 million rupees on the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” and his young age (he’s 18), combined with his unparalleled success on the show, lead the authorities – and the show’s host – to suspect that he’s cheating. After some interrogation (yep, he’s tortured), Jamal tells the police sergeant about his childhood: growing up in the Mumbai slums, the death of his mother during a religious riot, and how he, his brother Salim (Madhur Mittal), and Jamal’s lifelong crush Latika (Freida Pinto) were living in a dump before being taken in by Maman (Ankul Vikal), who used the children as professional beggars. Jamal and Salim escape Maman’s camp, but Latika is left behind, and Jamal never stops thinking about her. When he sees Latika much later – and discovers she’s now the prize of crime lord Javed (Mahesh Manirekar) – he learns that she’s a fan of “Millionaire,” so he auditions to be a contestant more as a means to show his love for her than the money.

Katherine Marie Heigl was born in Washington, DC, on November 24, 1978, to Nancy and Paul Heigl. A short time afterward, the family moved to New Canaan, Connecticut, where Katherine was to spend the majority of her childhood; the youngest member of her family, Katherine--or "Katie" as she is nicknamed--has two elder siblings, John and Meg. Tragically, her older brother Jason died in 1986 of brain injuries suffered in a car accident, after being thrown from the back of a pickup truck. When doctors determined he was brain-dead, the family made the difficult decision to donate his organs. Not only did this painful chapter give Katherine a greater perspective and appreciation for life, but it motivated her to use her celebrity to promote the importance of organ donation.
Katherine was first thrust into the limelight as a child model. An aunt, visiting the family in New Canaan, took a number of photographs of Katherine, then aged nine, in a series of poses to advertise a hair care product she had invented. Upon returning to New York, with permission from Katherine's parents, she sent the photos to a number of modeling agencies. Within a few weeks Katherine had been signed to Wilhelmina, a renowned international modeling agency. Almost immediately she made her debut in a magazine advertisement and soon followed this with an inaugural television appearance in a national commercial for Cheerios breakfast cereal.
Following a number of commercials and modeling assignments for Sears and Lord & Taylor, she made her big-screen debut in That Night (1992), which starred Juliette Lewis and C. Thomas Howell. It was then that she realized that acting rather than modeling was her passion. In 1993 Katherine appeared in Steven Soderbergh's critically acclaimed Depression-era drama King of the Hill (1993), before landing her first leading role as a rebellious teenager alongside Gérard Depardieu in My Father the Hero (1994). During this time Katherine continued to attend New Canaan High School, balancing her academic studies with work on films and modeling, which she undertook during holidays, vacations and weekends.
In 1995, she played Sarah Ryback, the niece of Steven Seagal's character, in Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), which was her "debut" in the action film genre. Acting was now becoming a stronger focus for Katherine, although she still modeled extensively, appearing regularly in magazines such as "Seventeen." Television appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (1992) and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (1993) soon followed, before she took the lead role in Disney's Wish Upon a Star (1996) in 1996. It was also during that year that Katherine's parents divorced and, following her graduation from high school in 1997, she moved with her mother into a four-bedroom house in Los Angeles' Malibu Canyon area. This enabled her to focus upon acting with the guidance and support of her mother, who now managed her career.
In 1997, Katherine portrayed Taffy Entwhistle, Rita Hayworth's stand-in, in Stand-ins (1997), and was also cast as the beauteous Princess Ilene in the European production Prince Valiant (1997). She then made her made-for-TV movie debut, co-starring with Peter Fonda in a re-working of the classic Shakespearean play The Tempest (1998) (TV), updated with an American Civil War theme. In this film, she played Miranda Prosper, a young woman torn between her love for both her father and a Union soldier. Bug Buster (1998) and Bride of Chucky (1998) represented a venture into the horror genre for Katherine. While both films could be described as rather tongue-in-cheek despite their gory emphases, Bride of Chucky (1998) was the better received, both critically and commercially.
In 1999, Katherine decided to branch out into series television when she accepted the role of the haughty yet vulnerable Isabel Evans on "Roswell" (1999), a show that blended teen angst with sci-fi drama. Though she had never planned to embark on a career in television, the role of Isabel, a teenager with a secret life, was an offer she found impossible to refuse. In the series, Isabel, her brother Max (Jason Behr) and their friend Michael (Brendan Fehr) are aliens passing as humans in Roswell, New Mexico, as they desperately try to hide the truth from government agencies, the people of Roswell and even their own adopted families. To publicize her role on the show, Katherine graced the covers of magazines such as "TV Guide," "Maxim," and "Teen" and was interviewed on "Later with Greg Kinnear" (1994) and "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn" (1999). Along with her mother Nancy, she also appeared in an episode of the Sci-Fi TV talk show "Crossing Over with John Edward" (1999), during which she spoke with John Edward, a psychic medium, about her late brother, Jason.
During the three years "Roswell" was in production, Katherine found time to work on several movies. 100 Girls (2000), an independent film released in 2001, is the story of a college freshman who meets the girl of his dreams in an elevator during a blackout, and spends the rest of the movie trying to find her again. Her cameo role is that of Arlene, the competitive tomboy. The second film, Valentine (2001), a horror film starring David Boreanaz and Denise Richards, appeared in U.S. theaters on February 2, 2001. In this movie, which is based upon the 1996 novel by Tom Savage, Katherine plays Shelley, a medical student who meets a sudden demise.
In the spring of 2001, Katherine accepted a role in NBC's Critical Assembly (2003) (TV), a two-hour original television thriller. Katherine and Kerr Smith ("Dawson's Creek" (1998)) co-starred as brilliant and politically concerned college students who build a nuclear device to illustrate the need for a change in national priorities, but are betrayed by a fellow student when the bomb ends up in the hands of a terrorist. Unfortunately, the telefilm, directed by Eric Laneuville, written by Tom Vaughan, and based on the best-seller "The Seventh Power" by James Mills, was shelved when its storyline was deemed too close for comfort to the events of September 11, 2001. It was eventually broadcast in 2003.
Since the cancellation of "Roswell" in the spring of 2002, Katherine has been busy with various projects, including an appearance on UPN's update of the classic television series, "The Twilight Zone" (2002). That episode, entitled "Cradle of Darkness", aired October 2, 2002, and featured Katherine in the role of a woman who goes back in time to stop one of the most notorious murders in history. In addition, she completed a movie, Descendant (2003), a psychological thriller inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher." She has also starred as Romy in ABC/Touchstone's two-hour telepic Romy and Michele: In the Beginning (2005) (TV), a prequel to the 1997 feature Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997).
During the summer of 2002, Katherine made a major decision in the direction of her career when she signed on for representation in all areas with the William Morris Agency, one of the biggest and most prestigious agencies in the entertainment industry. She is now being represented by Norman Aladjem at Paradigm Agency and being managed by Nancy Heigl and Stephanie Simon and Jason Newman at Untitled Entertainment.
